Curly Mesquite, also known as curly mesquite grass, is a native, warm-season, perennial sod- grass with creeping stolons which root at the leafy nodes surrounded by rings of hair. Plants are 4-10" in height. Curly mesquite is widely adapted to the western two thirds of Texas, and is typically found on tighter soils and rocky areas. It is a common component in range seeding mixes for central and west Texas. Curly mesquite is also a major species of native lawn blends.
